Traditional meets modern food

Heritage Pop up
Pop up number three!!!

24/Sept/2016

Alpine Attitude boutique hotel and conference venue. We actually saw this lovely venue driving on Atterbury Rd from Menlyn once and we were like: “hey, that glass house place is so pretty” so we made a U-Turn and knocked. We were welcomed by the owner, Charmaine and she didn’t even hesitate when we asked her if we could use her venue for the Heritage pop up. The rest is History!!

The venue is perfect!! Everybody liked the venue more and then they liked the food, lol.
We saw it fitting to host a Heritage pop up on Heritage day but of course we added our own little twist to it. We themed our pop up “Traditional meets modern”. We added a little Western twist to the typical South African dishes. We create a three course menu for this pop up including two canapés, a main dish with of course Boerewors and two lovely desserts. Everybody came looking like African Models.

The loveliest thing about these pop ups is seeing all the lovely faces, people you haven’t seen in a while, new faces and then seeing everybody chatting to everybody and making new friends, it’s absolutely lovely.

The lovely invite posters were created by our friend Tebogo Mogole. Lovely snaps by Hieress and the awesome food by the twins, made with lots and lots of love.

Pizza and wine evening

Pop up pizza and wine
Pop up number two!!!

27/Aug/2016

We visit Roastmasters coffee bar in Menlo Park, Pretoria a few times for breakfast on our off days. They serve the yummiest coffee and breakfast granola in the world!!!

For the second pop up, we were struggling to find the perfect venue, so on a random morning we decided to go breathe and have yummy breakfast at Roastmasters and think a little and the lovely owner, Natania Van Heerden came up to us and started chatting to us. We told her what we do, where we studied, only to find out the her daughter and us studied at the same place and graduated on the same day, what a lovely coincidence right?

She suggested we use her beautiful restaurant for our pop up restaurant and of course we didn’t pass up that opportunity. The pop up was absolutely perfect, hosted in the evening, lovely, intimate, perfect venue, couldn’t have asked for anything better.

The lovely invite pamphlets were designed by our beautiful friend Gugu. Lovely snaps by Hieress. The lovely wines from Backsberg wine estate and Steenberg wine estate. The lovely pizza was made by the twins, with love!!!

High tea

Pop up high tea
Pop up number one!!!

02/July/2016

We used the most beautiful cafe for this pop up, called “Alice in Waterkloof” how cute? It honestly looks like wonderland. It’s an outdoor venue with the cutest garden. The owner, Cindy Metz welcomed us with open arms and allowed us to take over.

We’ve always wanted to go for a high tea for our birthday at the Mount Nelson in Cape Town when we lived there but for some reason we never, ever got time. We had a little obsession with High teas even though we’ve never been to one. We then had a high tea on our graduation day hosted by the Hurst campus and it was absolutely amazing!!!

We totally had to do something about it and so we did. Not to toot our own horns but we hosted the loveliest high tea Pretoria has ever seen. We are so glad we brought something that inspired us in Cape Town back home with us.

My little sister, Dimpho created the cutie pie pamphlets for us. The beautiful Hieress took the loveliest snaps. The twins made all the food with lots and lots love.
