HERB AND CHEESE PULL-APART BREAD

FOR BREAD:

1 cup warm water

3 Tbls sugar

2 1/4 tsp instant yeast

2 cups bread flour

2 Tbls butter, melted

3/4 tsp salt

1 cup flour

FILLING:

125 g butter, melted

4 cloves garlic, minced

3/4 cup fresh herbs

1 cup shredded cheese 🧀

Salt and pepper

METHOD:

Combine flour with sugar, salt and yeast.

Add butter and water and mix till dough is formed.

Use mixer (dough hook). Knead for 6-9 minutes till soft.

Turn out, leave to rise in a lightly oiled bowl, covered with plastic wrap,
till double its size.  Punch the dough down onto floured surface. Allow to
rest for 5 minutes.

Meanwhile, chop herbs and garlic, melt butter and grated cheese.

Roll dough into 12 x 20 inch rectangle. Brush with 2 Tbls of butter,
sprinkle the dough with herb mixture. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Cut dough into 6 equal strips. Stack the strips ontop of each other and cut
into equal squares.  Grease a loaf tin and stack squares ontop of each
other in pan (Easier way is if the pan is on its side). Drizzle the top
with remaining butter.  Cover with clean kitchen towel. Leave to rise for
40 minutes.

Preheat oven to 180 degrees C. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown
and cooked through.

Remove from oven, allow to cool. Invert onto a serving platter to serve.
