BACON, CHEESE AND CHIVE SCONES

INGREDIENTS:
½ cup grated cheddar cheese ?
3 Tbls chives
½ cup bacon ? bits, cooked
2 cups cake flour
1 Tbls baking powder
½ tsp salt
¼ cup butter
1 egg, beaten
¾ cup buttermilk/ cream

METHOD:

Preheat oven to 200 degrees C.
Toss the first 3 ingredients with a Tbls of flour.
Mix the flour, baking powder and salt together.
Cut in the butter into the flour mix.
Add in the egg and buttermilk into the dry ingredients.
Fold in cheese mixture.
Knead dough for about 1 minute.
Shape into desired shape.
Bake for 12-15 minutes or till golden brown.

Serve with butter or cottage cheese.
